OceanaGold respects human rights across our global operations
For us, this means upholding the human rights of employees, members of communities and honoring the cultures and practices of indigenous peoples wherever we operate.
We also strongly believe that responsible economic development can vastly improve human rights, particularly in developing regions. We utilize the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights to create effective management strategies that encourage dialogue, participation and resolution of issues. We are focused on protecting the rights of indigenous peoples, and have successfully conducted free, prior and informed consent processes. We also commission Cultural Impact Assessments on all our proposed projects.
